| It might be difficult to keep it one solid color, however you might want to try another yarn in a similar color or colors. The portion you have completed could be used as the center, then use a different yarn/color(s) to work around the outside. Continue working in rounds until you get to the sized you want. It may not be what you planned, but sometimes when things like this happen to me, I just add something else to it and create a new piece. You might be surprised at how it turns out.
