Using circular needles
I adapt all of my sweater patterns now so that I can use circular needles up to the sleeve holes, then I will switch to straights.  When using a circular needle you have no side seems to sew up, and it is much faster because you are only using a knit stitch and no purls.  I would also like to use circulars for making my sleeves - but haven't been able to find any in a large enough needle size (8mm orlarger) with a small enough length, or in double pointed needles.  Does anyone have any suggestions on where I might find such needles?
I have recently also seen socks done, both at the same time using circulars - but now can't find anything about it, does anyone know of this method of doing socks? as it would also work for doing both sleeves at the same time too.
Thanks

Re: Using circular needles
Hi Brenda,

Here is a link to knitting socks on circulars.  http://www.tostetoes.com/twosocksoneneedle.htm

There are more you can check out by searching on the web.  Just type in knitting socks on circular needles and you will have a selection of things to pick from.

On the needles, Susan Bates has up to size 10 1/2 (6.5 mm) in 16" circular, and then 11 (8 mm) and up are 24" circular.  Double points are available in size 11 (8 mm).
