Hi to all the summer crafters.

Update:
It's June and school is out.  My grandkids are here most of the time so I'm trying to create fun things to get them outside.  My grandkids are like most others.......they want to play those computer games all day.  I'm trying to make sure I get them outside and keep them active.  I'm teaching them how to make a garden; each picking out certain things they wanted to grow, and we all watch the vegetables and flowers grow and change.  I think it's important to teach them to be green, respect the earth, and learn where our food and life sources come from.  At the same time, I take pictures along the way which gives me lots of ideas for fun summer projects.  I'm constantly working on something, anytime of year.  I've come up with some fun inside projects on those rainy days that will be fun for kids and also projects that can be worked up quickly while setting outside by the pool or under a tree while watching the kids in the pool.  I hope you keep stitching along with me.

Check out some of the other posts in my blog and see the quick and easy flowers you can add to a pair of sandals and recycle--ECO PROJECT.  There is also a fun project idea for the kids.  I have lot's more of quick and easy projects to keep you stitching this summer.  Share your ideas with us.  What do you work on during the summer?

Hi Kathleen! You might want to plant nasturtiums with your grandkids. They are easy to grow from seed and if you keep them away from pesticides (and any non-vegetable fertilizer) - the flowers are edible! Kids always get a kick out of putting flowers in a salad or on a hamburger right next to a pickle! Delightfully yours, Anne

Hey Anne,

What a great idea! I'll do that this weekend. I don't use pesticides on any of my veggies so this will be perfect. Thanks!

Catsangels....I'm thinking of "Elegant Cardigan", which was knit with Casual Cot'n and then had a crochet shell edging on the sleeves and around the bottom of the cardigan. The right & left front & neck had a smaller shell effect crochet edging. Here is the link to that pattern just in case:
