Red Heart Fall 2011 Crochet Along Project: Dusty Snowflake Throw


Your votes have been counted and the Dusty Snowflake Throw won for the Fall 2011 Crochet Along.  A close 2nd was the Friendship Shawl with only 11 fewer votes.  You can select any colors or yarns of your choice.  The only requirement is that you use Red Heart Yarn.  We are looking forward to your joining our group and hearing about your progress.Dusty Snowflake Throw

I'm so happy...

I am a long time knitter and I always thought the prettiest items were crocheted. Last year I used you tube to learn to crochet. I have admired this throw since I first saw it and I picked up the free directions more than once before I got the courage to buy the yarn and start.
I have struggled a little because the directions were unclear. I like to make all of the snowflakes first so I made them all to the 6th round and then tried to figure out how to attach them. I came to red heart to see if I could get some help. I am so excited I can crochet along here and finish this beautiful project.
With the full printed version and corrections I am confident now.

I am not a fan of the "join-as-you-go" technique. It has been a source of frustration for me. Can you send me a different technique for joining as an alternate. It will be greatly appreciated.

I am so glad this is the crochet along video. I just started making this blanket today and got stuck. Unfortunately, I am going to have to wait a while before the next video comes up. But I still have about a thousand other crochet and knit projects to keep me busy :)

I was really hoping for the shawl because I wasn't sure I would be able to do this, but I will give it a try. I have always loved this but was afraid that it would be to hard to do. Having some videos to show me how this works will be a really big help! Now I will have to get my yarn!!!
