Did you know Super Saver and many of your favorite Red Heart yarns are made in the USA at our own mills in Albany, and Douglas, GA? Our mills are equipped with state of the art technology, are environmentally friendly and staffed with well trained, experienced and dedicated employees.     

We mass produce yarns in very high volumes so that we can be as cost effective as possible. This means that whenever we run a particular color we could run anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 pounds of yarn – so in terms of Super Saver 7 oz skeins,  this is 23,000 – 114,000 skeins at a time!  That’s a lot of afghans!

How do we come up with the colors you see in the stores? We listen to your suggestions,we monitor different fashion trend sites and our team keeps an eye out for new color trends we see emerging.  We present all the new shades to the buyers of your favorite chain retailers and they choose which shades they think will sell best in their stores. This process generally takes a year from when we decide to develop a color until you see it on the shelves at your retailer. New colors are typically launched during the summer, so that when the weather turns cold in the fall and you are raring to pick up your needles and hooks again after a long hot summer, the stores are loaded up with a great new selection to inspire you!
