There will come a time when your ball of yarn will finish before you've completed your project or a pattern will call for you to use another color. In these cases, it will be necessary to join a new ball of yarn. To prevent unsightly knots, it's best to do this at the end of a row, however, this can be done anywhere in your project. Below, our Stitch Ambassador Mikey of The Crochet Crowd will show you how to join new yarn on your EZ-knitting project. Step 1 Cut the working yarn so that there are two loops left. Step 2 Open up the loops by cutting each loop at the base to create a tail of yarn. Get your new yarn from your new ball of yarn and cut open two loops creating a tail of yarn. Step 3 Tie the tail from the working yarn and the tail from the project yarn together making a knot. Make sure the knot is right at the base of the first loop on both the working yarn and the project yarn. Continue to do your EZ-knitting. Step 4 Once done, thread a darning needle with one of the the tails and stitch through a few stitches of your the stitchwork and then reverse the stitches three times. Cut when done. Repeat with other tail. Tips Do not use all of the loops in a yarn ball. You want to leave about two or three loops un-stitched.
