Great pattern. Doable by almost anyone.

For me, patterns are inspiration, not cookie cutters. I had some brown varigated that I couldn't find anything to match and some green that didn't go with anything else, so I put them together, along with 5 different flower colors and the result is beautiful!
I have some other yarn that I will be using to make a second one. This can and probably will become a stash buster for a third one. You could do every row of flowers a different color using up scraps from other projects. They don't even have to be the same weight of yarn. Just make sure you have the right number of V's and clusters on each row. Adjust your cluster with an extra YO for lighter weight yarns. Another thing I changed was to do 3 rows of HDC instead of 4 rows SC. This covers the chains between the flowers better, and it allows you to carry your yarn on the side, instead of constantly fastening off the MC and green. You only need to fasten off the flower rows this way.

Love This Pattern and Highly Recommend It

I have made this several times. It is easy, fun and does not get you bogged down in instructions, counting and is not at all monotonous. I have also varied it by adding 2 additional chains to the foundation row and, rather than 4 rows of single crochet between the stem/flower rows, I do 2 rows of double crochet. That makes the project really sail along, plus it makes the blanket more open and airy feeling. Measurement-wise the 2 rows of DC are just about equal to 4 rows of SC.
