Adorable Idea
I love the fun in this project, both in the making of it and in the finished project for a child to play with. I love items for children that encourage them to use their imaginations. With this item they can play at being a monkey and we could have fun with the song Ten Little Monkeys too. I am going to make this for the preschool group at the church.
snuggies have just found their match
this is so cute I will be making this for my grand children. they always want me to make them something that is like a super hero cape but this is even better.
Question about hands.
I am confused about the hands and the pockets. Are the hands supposed to actually be used as mittens? And what is the use of the pockets?
Thank you.
This is actually a blanket
This is actually a blanket the child can "wear," so you have mittens attached. The pockets are sewn to the corners of the blanket and the hands, or mittens, are sewn to those corners. The pockets really act more like sleeves.

Thank you for your reply.
Thank you for your reply. Are you saying that the very corner of the pocket is not sewn shut? And then the hand is sewn onto the opening?
Exactly!!! Ann

enlarging the pattern
Can this pattern be enlarged to adult size? If so, how does one go about doing that?
I'm thinking the same thing!
I'm thinking the same thing! I'm sure it can and will post as soon as I can get it worked out. You know with me it is do the math, do the math and of course a lot of trial and error, and trying to remind myself to make some notes on how did I do that? But I can so see this on my daughter curled up reading a book, her hands get soooo ice cold and by the way she is 23years old :)
