I made this hat and as everyone else says here it looks sophisticated. I added a pom pom at the top to make it more Chrismasy! :) It did turn out pretty loose for me with the H hook. I would probably make it again with the G hook. Thanks for sharing this awesome pattern!

Waves ahead hat

What a wonderful pattern!! Warm as toast, easy care and looks like it is WAY more complex than it is! Who could ask for anything more? Well, a scarf would be just lovely.... Hope it is alright with you if I use this pattern to make a few hats for donation to a local women and childrens shelter, Everybody deserves something this warm and pretty. I will most certainly pass along proper credit and your web information

Waves-A-Head Crochet Pattern

This worked up fast, and is very cute. I plan to make several more for various family members. I love the design's textured look, it gives it such a professional finish. Thanks for this free pattern.

Waves-A-Head Crochet Pattern

Ok, I did make a couple more (this pattern just gets easier and faster) I've used a couple of different worsted weight yarns. One hat got a bit too big with the H hook and "regular" yarn, even for my grown son. So on the third hat I used a G hook and it made a perfect size for me. It has good stretch, so I wouldn't worry about it getting too small if pattern is followed.
