Weekend Granny Throw Crochet Pattern
This graphically interesting throw is easy to make. Start at the center with thicker than usual yarn and make just one great big granny square. It’s crocheted in one piece, so there is nothing to sew together.

Grannys are so much fun!
I was looking for an easy project for a holiday throw. I'm currently on disability so this would be a great project for me. I was thinking to get the chunky look using the great christmas color yarn that I've seen in stores, I could hold 2 or 3 strands together. Any thoughts? I'm open to suggestions or pattern referral on this site :-) Need something not too complicated even though I am an experienced crocheter due to the fact that I am on pain medication and I am a perfectionist when it comes to my handmade items.
Thanks!

Super Saver Chunky Yarn FOR GRANNY SQUARE
THE Super Saver Chunky Yarn IS GREAT FOR THIS THROW. I MADE IT & IT WORKS UP BEAUTIFUL!
FOR CHRISTMAS COLORS I WOULD TRY THE CHERRY RED & WHITE. FOR THE GREEN YOU COULD USE THE TEA GREEN IT'S DARKER THAN SHOWN MORE OF A LIGHT OLIVE. YOU COULD SUBSTITUTE ANOTHER CHUNKY YARN FOR THE GREEN? I WOULD TRY THE TEA GREEN IT GOES WITH ALL THE Super Saver Chunky Yarn COLORS & COULD BE USED ALL YEAR ROUND. OR YOU COULD MAKE IT WITH JUST TWO COLORS CHERRY RED & WHITE & USE IT FOR VALENTINES DAY AS WELL.
WHY HOLD TWO OR THREE STRANDS OF YARN...THIS YARN IS SO MUCH EASIER TO WORK WITH?
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU?
I love this throw but i think
I love this throw but i think i'll make mine a bit bigger than what the pattern says

Granny throw afghan
I love doing granny square afghans, there easy and only one square, you are only doing one big square, it is so fun to do. I have made may granny throws. I will be doing this one for sure, If I can find some Hot PINK yarn that will be great, Can someone help me find that color and a color to match.
Thanks

I usually find good deals on yarn on eBay. I haven't found any of the Super Saver Chunky on there but they have lots of colours.
I like these funky pairings...
If you are using the Red Heart Chunky....
How about Magenta & Tea Leaf or Carrot & Teal
My favorite would be if they had a light pink; I would pair that with the Tea Leaf.....the possibilites are endless!
